Shyampahari  Govt Primary Teachers’ Training Institute was established in the year 1964 covering a land of 8.23 acres, PO- R. K. Sikshapith,  PIN 731223 in the village Tumboni of Birbum district.It was recognized by NCTE,ERC with  the intake capacity of 100 (50+50) trainee students  and also affiliated by West Bengal Board of Primary Education (WBBPE ) . The aim of this two years teachers’ training course is to strengthen the teaching skills and morel of primary teachers to improve the child centred quality education .

Our Institute follows a unique pedagogy to ensure its trainees in having the opportunity  to face the everchanging demands of real world situation and to develope a knowledge based society with clarity of thought and the edge of excellence in the endowment of teaching and learning process.Therefore our objectives are to impart the trainees an adequate knowledge of subject matter,to equip the trainees with pedagogic skills,to enable the trainees to understand  the child psychology ,to develop self confidence, and to enable the trainees to understand the significance of individual differences of child  and to develop the ability in the trainees to give satisfaction of parents from the achievement of children in terms of proper attitude ,behaviour,habits and progress in class.

Our mission is to provide skill oriented training to meet the need of the students and society. Therefore it is  supplemented by  on going practice teaching and interaction with school students,parents providing  the trainees a practical platform to assess and experience the application and effective results of what is taught as concepts in their classrooms. We eagerly want to inculcate the love of knowledge in our trainees  and for this we aim to develop the skills and demeanour of life long learning essential for making responsible global citizens.
